Don’t Buy That Michelle Obama Wants to Register One Million Voters
The only people she wants to register to vote are new Democrats

Michelle Obama knows Democrats are in trouble in the 2022 mid-term and 2024 presidential elections. Biden has dismal approval ratings and Democrats are losing support in key demographics like Hispanics. The economy is in a tailspin. Biden failed to “shut down the virus” as he promised numerous times during his campaign and admitted there’s no federal solution, which conservatives have been saying all along.
Obama announced in a letter on Sunday titled “Fight For Our Vote” calling to register one million new voters and to recruit and train over 100,000 volunteers to register and turn out new voters in their communities. She wants to organize another 100,000 people to call their senators to support so-called federal “voting rights” legislation, recruit lawyers for election battles, and how to vote safely in their state. Who knew voting was so hazardous?
She also attacked laws that protect election integrity in Georgia, Florida, Iowa, and Texas. Why didn’t she attack Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware? The new Georgia election law allows more time for early voting than Delaware and The Atlantic said fewer states make it harder to vote than there. She never criticizes solid blue states in the northeast who make voting difficult because it doesn’t fit the Democrat narrative against Republicans.
It would be interesting if a person in the mainstream media who did their job asks Obama if she includes Republicans in that one million new voter target. One would imagine that someone who believes in diversity, inclusion, and equity that conservatives would be included, and she would want an equal number of Republicans and Democrats registered if she was honest in her intentions.
She never criticizes solid blue states in the northeast who make voting difficult because it doesn’t fit the Democrat narrative against Republicans.
She won’t try to increase voter registration in conservative areas like Colorado Springs, but you can bet there will be drives to increase participation in downtown Atlanta and Philadelphia. Don’t expect volunteers to knock on doors in rural Texas or Florida to get new voters. Will When We All Vote, founded by Michelle Obama and claims to be non-partisan, be tolerant of MAGA hat wearers be inclusive and welcoming to them if they participate?
Obama’s organization deserves to get asked some clarifications about its name and mission. When they want everyone to vote, does that mean only citizens eligible to vote? Do they support vaccine passports that have more negative impacts on minorities while opposing voter ID? What kind of election integrity measures do they support to ensure the new voters they register have their vote count?
I think we all know Michelle Obama wants one million new Democrats to register to vote, not one million new voters which would include Republicans. There’s no way she would admit being pleased if the majority registered didn’t vote for Democrats. Her initiative isn’t about getting new people involved in the political process. It’s about getting the right people involved. That’s how politics works and it’s a brilliant strategy for her to make her appeal sound genuine.
