Fun and Insightful Questions to Ask in Your Workplace Anti-Racism Training
Question every racist assumption made about White privilege and the racism you get accused of having due to your melanin count
Woke Corporate America is getting out of control with their anti-racism and Critical Race Theory indoctrination training. These aren’t the same diversity and inclusion you sat through a decade ago. These sessions are loaded with abstract terms like “systemic racism,” “White privilege,” “microaggressions,” and “White fragility” you must learn and accept.
Non-racist White staff members are the primary target. The latest and most heinous example is from Disney. Training documents told White employees to decolonize their bookshelves, reject equality in favor of equity, complete a privilege checklist, a how-to guide titled “75 Things White People Can Do for Racial Justice” and instructions for how to speak to Black co-workers. Apparently, you aren’t allowed to talk to them like normal people.
These ideas raise a lot of legitimate questions. You may get accused of White fragility if you dare to ask the facilitator with a six-figure salary in a brand new and profitable industry questions about these ideas. The simple response is you are trying to do your best to “Do the work,” being noble in your attempt to fight for justice and desire a better understanding to do your part.
Why can’t I say all lives matter?
This is a valid question because it implies some lives don’t matter if you can’t say it. Tucker Carlson ingeniously asked this question on his show last week. Ask your facilitator which lives don’t matter and if yours does. You can also go around the room and ask him/her about all the other individuals present and see if they end up all mattering. You could find out all lives matter but some lives matter more than others, like out of Animal Farm where some animals are more equal than others.
Can you please quantify my White privilege?
Jordan Peterson asked this question during the Munk Debate in 2018 on political correctness. He wanted to know what percentage of his whiteness (I despise that term but it’s useful here), is responsible for his success. It’s a great question because does the White male in the training who grew up poor with only an abusive alcoholic mother in the home and didn’t go to college have more privilege than a Black female with two successful parents and who has a couple of Ivy League degrees?
Since we just met, can you please speak to me as an individual about all the ways you know I’m racist because of my skin color?
Anti-racists and Critical Race Theory proponents only speak in terms of groups and oppressor/oppressed dynamics. They reject individuality and make assumptions only on your race about what group you identify with or what they dictate you should be part of. You need to reject group identity and demand answers about you as an individual. This should be an easy trap to get the facilitator in to show their racist assumptions.
You could find out all lives matter but some lives matter more than others, like out of Animal Farm where some animals are more equal than others.
Do you include diversity of thought into your idea of diversity and inclusion? Or do you only care about skin color?
These people want you to only think a certain way. You aren’t allowed to reject the idea that America is still a racist country and that systemic racism is embedded in every part of our society. Trump supporters or other conservative-leaning people need not apply. They expect you to think a certain way politically based on your skin color. If you don’t comply, remember what Democrats said about Senator Tim Scott (R) after his response to Biden’s address to Congress.
Do you support Black Lives Matter riots that cost lives and ruined businesses in minority communities?
Your facilitator will 100% support BLM and that requires questioning since their riots don’t burn down the suburbs. They take place in urban areas where a lot of Black-owned businesses are located. Aren’t you supposed to support a business because the owner is Black? Why would you be ok with riots taking place around them in big cities? How can you support their violent tactics when they take the lives of people like David Dorn? Is there an acceptable cost for the cause?
These are all questions other people in training could have on their minds if they don’t buy into anti-racism racism. The value of the individual isn’t recognized and group identity is paramount. It’s demeaning to everyone as unique individuals with diverse perspectives. People are beginning to step up and speak out regarding these racist sessions, but it needs to happen every time one of these occurs. If you can’t speak up, blow the whistle in the way which works best for you. There are plenty of conservatives and traditional liberals with big voices who can call out these organizations to help stop this.
