Here’s Why I Can’t Call COVID-19 Shots Vaccines Anymore

It's time for conservatives and moderate liberals to take the language of COVID from the Left

People on the Left are masters at manipulating language to fit their agenda and it’s time to take the language back.

Leftists changed the meaning of “vaccine” and “vaccination.” We used to think if we got a vaccine we would be protected from getting a disease. Polio and measles are great examples of what we always thought of as vaccines. They fit the Collins Dictionary definition that says, “A vaccine is a substance containing a harmless form of the germs that cause a particular disease. It is given to people, usually by injection, to prevent them from getting that disease.”

The CDC changed the meaning of those words during COVID. The Miami Herald reported that the definition for “vaccination” read, “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.” Now, the word “immunity” has been switched to “protection.” “Vaccine” changed from “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to the current “a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

The “experts” in our government promised vaccines would be the end of the pandemic. We wouldn’t have to mask and life would get back to normal. The opposite happened. We now are expected to get a booster in the United States. Israel is on its fourth injection and Omicron is still wreaking havoc there. Countries are dividing their populations by vaxxed and unvaxxed by a medication that doesn’t work as a traditional vaccine would and ostracizing those who don’t want to get shots.

The vaccines failed to prevent transmission during Delta and Omicron variants. They work to help you have a milder case and decrease hospitalization and death if you do get COVID. That’s not the purpose of a vaccine which is supposed to keep you from getting the disease. The vaccines have turned into injectable therapeutics and should get treated as such and it’s time to stop treating them like the only solution.

Since they work more like therapeutics, comparisons should get made between Merck and Pfizer’s COVID pills, Ivermectin, and Hydroxychloroquine. Early treatments got neglected in favor of a cult-like vaccine-only focus. People love to brag about how many COVID shots they got and how fast they were boosted. It could be better to take a pill in the early stages of COVID instead of a series of shots to get natural immunity. It’s time we find out.

I can’t call these shots vaccines anymore in my writing because that’s not how they work. I’m an unwoke HR professional and don’t have any medical background. I’m definitely out of my lane but I’m smart enough to see government manipulation. Something isn’t right when the CDC thinks they can change a definition we always accepted to accomplish their agenda. From now on I’ll call them things like therapeutic injections or shots since “vaccine” doesn’t mean what it used to.

The Left attacks anyone who dares to question government authority and messaging on COVID. It’s creepy how obsessed they are over your personal health choices that don’t affect them if the shots don’t stop transmission. Why should they care if you decided not to get what the government insists on? They didn’t trust the government on anything a few years ago. My body, my choice remember? It’s time for people not on the far-left to take control of the language and call these shots for what they are.
