The Left Forgot to Use Their New Social Justice Term to Describe Trump
Democrats and left-wing media forgot to use inclusive language after Trump's trial
It’s hard to keep up with what you are and aren’t supposed to say in modern America. The meaning of words keeps changing and new words get invented. “Queer” used to be a slur and now it’s celebrated. “Equity” replaced “equality.” Instead of only having “justice,” we now have “environmental justice,” “social justice,” “restorative justice,” “reproductive justice,” and “economic justice” etc.
The newest term that’s popped up in various blue areas such as New York City, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles is “justice-impacted individual.” It’s supposed to replace words like “offender,” “ex-convict,” “felon,” and “prisoner.” This focuses more on making the criminal feel better, minimizes and clouds the situation, and makes it sound like justice impacted them through no fault of their own.
There’s no consideration for the victims of the crimes with this new terminology. If you are a family member of a murder victim or got raped you probably don’t think justice impacted them out of nowhere. Our justice system has more things to be concerned about than being sensitive to criminals. Illinois Sen. Steve McClure (R) asked a great question to Democrat Sen. Robert Peters if the word “victim” would change too.
There’s no consideration of the victims of the crimes with this new terminology.
The aftermath of Trump’s trial in New York City would have been the perfect time to introduce and mainstream “justice-impacted individual” to the public. Instead, left-wing media outlets like CNN, NPR, and MSNBC couldn’t wait to repeat Trump was a convicted felon instead of a “justice-impacted individual.” That’s the correct term for the jurisdiction he was tried in too. Trump is the most investigated person in history so justice definitely impacts him all of the time.
The roots of Trump’s trial go all the way to the far-left and wealthy Soros family. He funded Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg’s campaign who made the Trump trail happen. Alex Soros is urging Democrats to call Trump a “convicted felon” at every opportunity. This goes against the Left wanting to call people “justice-impacted individuals.” Does inclusive language depend on the person? Why aren’t Bragg and Soros using their own language to use to describe Trump?
Trump doesn’t get the benefit of getting called a “justice-impacted person” because that doesn’t work as a political advantage as well as calling him a felon for Democrats. They will do whatever they can from keeping him from winning again. Their new terms to be nicer to criminals don’t count when referring to political opponents they target through manipulating the law. Consistency isn’t important for the Left when it comes to winning elections so make sure to call Trump a “justice-impacted person” and correct others when they call him a felon.
