The Left Must Think Its Justified To Assault Their Political Opponents
There's a disturbing trend around the world of violence against non-left wing politicians
Nigel Farage is one of many politicians not on the far-left that has a difficult time avoiding violent protestors. He seems to attract left-wing people who think throwing milkshakes at him is an appropriate form of disagreement. It happened to him in 2019 when the attacker, Paul Crowther, expressed his dissatisfaction with Farage’s politics, particularly his stance on Brexit, as the motivation behind his actions.
Farage launched his campaign for a parliamentary seat in the upcoming July 4th elections in the UK earlier this month. He got hit in the face with another milkshake from a left-wing protester named Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, and was charged with assault by beating and criminal damage. Milkshaking is a very dangerous form of assault. Any kind of harmful substance can get put in, including making “milkshakes” with concrete.
Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro’s life was threatened when he was stabbed by a left-wing activist named Adelio Bispo de Oliveira, who had a history with the left-wing Socialism and Liberty Party, at a campaign rally. He suffered serious injuries and needed immediate medical attention. The attacker ended up not getting tried because he allegedly wasn’t aware of his actions at the time.

Journalist Andy Ngo was assaulted by far-left Antifa activists in 2019 when he was reporting on the violent extremist group. He also had a milkshake thrown at him and suffered a beating that left him with a brain bleed for covering the group’s activities. He won $300,000 in a lawsuit against Portland Antifa. Activists staked out his mom’s home and approached his house in masks but got caught on camera. There was graffiti around Portland that said “Kill Andy Ngo.”
The most egregious and tragic action took place in 2017 when a Bernie Sanders supporter named James T. Hodgkinson opened fire on Republicans practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game and almost killing Represenative Steve Scalise. Hodgkinson specifically approached Representative Jeff Duncan and asked him, "Are those Republicans or Democrats out there practicing?" Duncan replied, "Those are Republicans," to which Hodgkinson responded, "Okay, thanks," and started shooting up the field.

Nicholas John Roske attempted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home in 2022. He ranted about Roe v. Wade and the Second Amendment online. He Googled search terms such as "how to be stealthy," "assassin skills" and "most effective place to stab someone" according to the FBI’s warrant. He portrayed himself online as a ‘trans gamer girl’ named Sophie. He carried a gun, ammunition, a knife, pepper spray, a screwdriver, zip ties, and other gear when he was arrested by the police outside Kavanaugh's home.
Left-wing political violence is increasing and is a real threat to democracy. Hodgkinson could murdered representatives that millions of Americans voted for if he succeeded. A Supreme Court justice’s life was in danger because of rulings. Farage, Ngo, and Bolsonaro were all attacked without provocation by far-left people who thought their violent actions were justified. These individuals have spouses and families who don’t deserve the grief this causes. None of these extreme actions are justified no matter how much the person disagrees.
